Welcome to the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program! SAS EOF, with funding from the state and the college, provides students with a network of academic, financial, personal, and professional support services that are essential for success in college. Your words, dreams, and thoughts have the power to create positive conditions in your life. Every moment is an opportunity to learn.



The SAS EOF Program offers financial and academic assistance to low-income New Jersey residents who show potential and exhibit evidence of academic and/or creative promise, but who lack adequate educational and financial resources for college.

Prospective EOF students demonstrate:

• A high level of academic motivation
• The drive to overcome personal and financial problems
• The vision to establish career goals

From enrollment to graduation, students admitted to Rutgers University-New Brunswick through the SAS EOF Program are required to meet Program guidelines to maintain their eligibility.

Program guidelines include:

• Successful completion of the summer program
• An on-going active relationship with their assigned counselor
• Participation in academic support and enrichment efforts

SAS EOF students are encouraged, and assisted, to prepare themselves for life after Rutgers. The Program places special emphasis on moving students toward graduate education programs, professional schools, and rewarding career paths.

All students admitted to SAS EOF are challenged to develop an appreciation of issues of diversity, community, social responsibility, and leadership. The Program endeavors to provide them with support and experiences designed to aid them in developing the capability to participate fully in every aspect of the college experience, and become productive members of society.
